Hey everybody,
It has been a few
weeks since our last blog post and the last one was a bit intense. Thank you
for reading about our process so far and the ups and downs we’ve had. We appreciate everyone’s continued prayers
and support.
Things are
progressing now and we are getting super excited!! We have finished our
individual interviews, joint interview and our home study. Everything is currently being processed by
the agency for finalization on our approval.
We feel like everything went really well and are looking forward to the final
approval. Our agency has a tentative
goal of finishing by the end of October. (Eeeeehhh!)
We also just finished
and ordered our profile book. This book
is about 20 pages and is used to give the birth parent(s) an initial look at who
we are. From there they decide who they would like to move forward in meeting. It
was a little hard for both of us to come up with things to say about us,
because we just don’t do it very often (well, maybe Mike does ;)), but we finally
finished it and ordered the (6) copies.
They will have some here and a couple out in El Paso, where they have
another office. We will try to get a sample on here in the future so you guys
can see what it looks like.
So, after the books
come in and the home study is finalized, we get toooooo….wait for it…...well,
wait! :) At that point we will be a “waiting
family” which just means we will wait for a birth mom to choose us and then,
hopefully soon after, we get to meet our baby!
Guys, this is getting more and more real every day. We are a little anxious, but mostly
exhilarated. We can’t wait to bring home
baby and do nothing but love on them (well, there is the feeding thing and
changing diapers and…ummm LB, help!), and show them off to all those who have supported
us through this incredible journey. We
can’t wait to expand this little band of ours and make some amazing new-life
music. We also can’t wait to share this
with all of you. Our child will be a testament
to the love that surrounds us on
a daily basis. Thank you again for
everything you’ve done.
We are still working
on our fundraiser. We still have a chunk
to go to reach our goal and are hoping you can help. Thank you to everyone that has already given,
we can’t tell you how much we appreciate you.
